COVID Dispatches: Day 13

Received round 1 of Remdesivir last night.

Round two is dripping in now.

The steroids are spiking my blood sugar, which is apparently normal. They’re treating me as a diabetic and gave me insulin.

Got about 5 hours of sleep.

Drinking plenty of fluids.

Didn’t have a fever all day after getting to the hospital.

Vitals are good. Oxygen was 94 most recently. We’re going to keep working on that one.

I have a deep breathing trainer, like open heart surgery patients. You breathe into it and try to build lung capacity. It has this piece that rises in the cylinder to measure the air movement. I’m taking it as a challenge and working to move it higher every hour.

Feeling good. Just got to tackle this pneumonia.
