COVID Dispatches: Day 12

This is repeat info for some of you. Trying to capture everyone…

I’m at Presbyterian Hospital in Plano in the ER area. They’re going to check me in so they can run a full screening and possibly chest X-rays. Linda is having to wait outside in her van. We’ll update when we can.

In consultation with our primary doctor, he suggested this to get some hands-on care. My symptoms aren’t worse, they’re just persistent.

Took chest x-ray, waiting on results.

EKG was “perfect”.

Have oxygen tubes in my nose. My oxygen rate is up to 97.

Have an IV delivering fluids and antibiotics.

Late afternoon update:

  • I do have pneumonia.
  • We’ll be treating this with Remdesivir – that’s a 5-round application, with 1 treatment per day. That means (surprise!) I’m going to be in the hospital for a minimum of 5 days.
