COVID Dispatches: Day 10

Today was OK – not great, not bad.

We tried sleeping in the same bed, with very mixed results for both of us. I got a couple hours of sleep in a slightly inclined position, but that didn’t work real well for breathing. I ended up sitting up – I have one of those reading pillows. Linda changed rooms so she could get some sleep. I got another couple hours.

My oxygen level is still hanging in the 95 or 96 range. We’ve got to push that up.

I had a low-grade fever off-and-on.

In my follow up appointment, the doctor ordered me more of the steroids in order to increase the dosage. He also told me to start taking Mucinex to help my dry cough turn into something more productive. Finally, he prescribed a second inhaler – Symbicort, that has a steroid in it. I’ll use that in addition to the other inhaler. The plan is that all those things will start clearing up my lungs and allow me to breathe more deeply.
