COVID Dispatches: Day 9

Today was much better. While I barely slept at all (as some of you had predicted with my starting on the steroids), my fever broke a couple hours after last night’s dispatch. I was fever-free until late this afternoon. My temp topped out at 99.4, so nothing like yesterday. My pulse was in the 70s this morning, although it’s been back in the 90s most of the day.

We’re continuing to watch my oxygen levels, which are hovering around 95 or 96. The doctor is concerned about anything less than 95 consistently. My deep breathing has been kind of hit and miss today. The inhaler helps with that. Lying on my stomach helped, too.

I didn’t have any body aches or stomach ache today. I’ve eaten a lot more. Linda made us scrambled eggs and pancakes for breakfast. I’ve drunk a couple of protein shakes to make sure I’m getting enough nourishment to fight the virus. Oh, and the bathroom trip count was down to normal, thank God.

Sorry for the scare yesterday. I’m hopeful that was the low point.

We appreciate everyone’s continued interest and prayers. It means more than you can know.
