COVID Dispatches: Day 14

I went to bed with my best vitals yet:

  • Pulse of 78!! (It’s been 95+ for days)
  • BP 127/87 (still elevated for me, but improved)
  • Oxygen 96 – we’re moving up slowly
  • Temp remains good
  • Blood sugar of 150 – much too high, but down from its peak of 169. The steroids are causing this. They’re treating me as diabetic, including insulin shots. I believe I received 4 shots in my stomach yesterday (not all insulin), so that’s fun. I’m limiting carb intake.

Speaking of food – it’s actually quite good here. I had a 3-cheese lasagna roll with broccolini and apple pie for lunch. For dinner it was a ham & cheese omelet and orange sorbet.

I got to brush my teeth!

I set my personal record on the breathing exercise 3 different times yesterday.

Sleep is still hit or miss, getting about 5 hours total.

Today we’ll continue with the Remdesivir, will kick some ass on breathing exercises, and see if we can start weaning me down on the oxygen feed. There’s no football today, but Nicole sent some activity books with more on the way, and I’ve got my iPad, so I’m staying entertained.

I can feel your love and support, and appreciate it more than you can know!
